It is a landmark year for M.L. Khanna D.A.V. Public School, Dwarka. The school has entered its twenty eighth year, journeying a long way since its inception in 1990. It was a memorable road, replete with challenges and achievements. The school’s success is the realization of dreams and ceaseless efforts of many. Among them the name of Shri Madan Lal Khanna stands out like the Northern star. It was with his blessings and support, that the school which was earlier functioning in a rented accommodation in Palam village, managed to acquire the 4 acres of land in a prime sector in Dwarka. This inaugural issue of the newsletter is a befitting tribute to the great personality Shri Madan Lal Khanna, after whom the school has been named .
Shri M.L. Khanna belonged to a staunch Arya Samajist family and dedicated his whole life for the cause of Arya Samaj. He was closely associated with D.A.V. Institutions from 1960 onwards. An able administrator, he was the General secretary of D.A.V College Managing Committee. He also remained the Chairman of the school for a long period.
A man of infinite qualities, he was a thorough gentleman. Soft, unassuming, and an epitome of humility. A human being extraordinaire, he had an amazing ability to influence the lives of the people he met. He was a sensitive soul who expounded poetry and rich quotes from great masters to convey his message home. Full of wit and humour, he could diffuse difficult situations with a rare light touch. He urged everyone to imbibe virtues of patience, forbearance and forgiveness and emphasized upon the importance of strength and goodness of character. It was his firm belief that if a human being has anything valuable to contribute to the world it will come through the expression of his thoughts translated into action.

He said that life is one long struggle and only qualities like courage, honesty and perception can enable one to emerge into a better and chiseled person. He advised never to let failures discourage or dissuade us, in fact, he said that it is these that are the real test of a man’s true character.
Shri Khannaji stressed that teaching is a noble profession and that the teachers play a crucial role in building up of a nation. He inspired the teachers to always uphold the trust the parents placed in them by working sincerely and with dedication . We at D.A.V Dwarka are the fortunate ones who had numerous opportunities to meet the great man and interact with him. His motivational talks and his divine presence is remembered and missed by all. He shall remain the guiding light in our lives.
