JENESYS 2.O Exchange Pragramme to Japan Back to Achievement Page

 

 

DAV Public  School Dwarka participated in JENESYS(Japan East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youths) 2.0 programme – an Educational and Cultural Exchange programme to Japan. Kushi Dhaka from DAV Dwarka along with 22 more students from various other schools across Delhi under the auspices of Principal DAV Dwarka Ms. Monika Mehan and Dr. B.C. Sabta Senior Scientific Officer, Department of Environment, Delhi attended this programme from 27th May to June 3rd 2014. The programme was planned to sensitise children to a deep sense of protecting the environment, to facilitate global understanding.

The weeklong stay started with a quick briefing about the programme by the Fukoka Prefecture Government members. The visit to the Hakuryo High School and the Kyushu University aimed to demonstrate as to how the work towards environment preservation and betterment was done in Japan from a very early age itself. At Kyush University students came to know of the newly developed technology of cars running on hydrogen- one of the amazing innovations.

Nissan Motor Kyushu Co. Ltd. Plant well equipped with eco technology showcased the making of cars without harming the environment. A brief halt at Incineration plant mesmerized everyone with its eco-friendly technology - white smoke coming out of chimney instead of black. Eco club students under the guidance of Principal Ms. Monika Mehan presented ‘Incredible India’ where in enthusiastic participants put up some scintillating performances showcasing India culture, India tourism and many incredible things about India. Back home Khushi Dhaka shared her learning experiences with students and teachers in the assembly and Principal Ms. Monika Mehan sensitised every one about all the invaluable aspects from global understanding, preserving the environment, maintaining cleanliness at public places to techno scientific capabilities.

The multifaceted exchange programme has broadened the educational and cultural horizons of participants through the global perspective.
